| About Bob |
About the ScholarshipTo honor Bob's life and work, his family has established a scholarship in his name at Delta College. The scholarship supports students who are 25 years or older, demonstrate financial need, and have a minimum 2.5 grade point average. It's official! The Delta College Foundation Board of Directors passed the resolution formally endowing the Robert R. Zimmermann "Dr. Bob" Scholarship on September 21, 2011. Bob's daughter Stephanie, son B.J., and wife Marian were there for the event.
Funding the ScholarshipThe first scholarship was awarded in Spring 2011 for the fall semester. With donations and interest, the fund has reached $33,000, within striking distance of our $50,000 goal! Every donation helpswhatever the amount.
About Bob and Delta CollegeBob started at Delta College in 1981 as director of a developmental disability program. Then in 1989 he accepted a full-time teaching position in psychology. He found his years teaching at Delta College to be the finest of his professional career. He retired from the College in 1995. The scholarship is set up to give students a second chance, like the second chance Delta College gave Bob.
