- American Communication Association
ACA Mission: "The American Communication Association (ACA) is a not-for-profit organization, a virtual professional association with actual presence in the world of scholars and practitioners alike. ACA was created to promote academic and professional research, criticism, teaching, practical use, and exchange of principles and theories of human communication. Our community embraces researchers, teachers, business persons, and specialists located in North, Central, and South America and in the Caribbean."
- International Communication Association
ICA Mission: "The International Communication Association was formed in 1950 bringing together academicians and other professionals whose interest focused on human communication.
Through its Divisions and Interest Groups, publications, annual conferences and its relations with other associations around the world, ICA promotes the systematic study of communication theories, processes and skills."
- Chinese Communication Association
About CCA: "The Chinese Communication Association is a non-profit organization registered in the State of Minnesota, U.S.A., CCA is headquartered in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication (SJMC) at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities."
- World Communication Association
WCA Mission: "The purposes of the World Communication Association are to ensure and support research, teaching and practice of communication in all forms and circumstances, to maintain a special appreciation that in an increasingly interdependent world we are all increasingly dependent for peace and understanding upon reasoned communication in international and intercultural environments, to further public understanding and support of academic inquiry and training in communication for these ends in all schools, colleges and appropriate private institutions, to sustain the concept of free, responsible and effective communication by and among all people, and to speak out in national and international forums as a unified voice for all persons committed to these purposes."
- National Communication Association
About NCA: "NCA is a non-profit organization of approximately 7,100 educators, practitioners, and students who work and reside in every state and more than 20 foreign countries. The purpose of the Association is to promote study, criticism, research, teaching, and application of the artistic, humanistic, and scientific principles of communication. NCA is the oldest and largest national organization to promote communication scholarship and education. Founded in 1914 as the National Association of Academic Teachers of Public Speaking, the society incorporated in 1950 as the Speech Association of America. The organization changed its name to Speech Communication Association, in 1970. It adopted its present name in 1997."

CSCA Mission: "The mission of the Central States Communication Association is to unite those persons in the Central States area with an academic or professional interest in all disciplines of communication in all educational levels, for the promotion of their mutual interests and the advancement of their common field."
